Birdwatching tour in Sado Estuary

We will visit one of the most important wetland in Portugal where is possible to observe a large number of bird species. A huge place where you can find many waders and waterfowls like Sandpipers, Flamingo, Glossy Ibis and many more.

Thios tour was designed for groups up to 4 people and can be done at any time of the year. We start our tour in Évora and after an our we will arrive to our destination.

What to Expect

Sado’s Estuary is very good for aquatic birds and wader. This is the main group of species we will see. We will drive from Évora and reach the area after one-hour driving. After that, we will be searching for birds in the area.

Some of the birds that is possible to see are:

  • Red-breasted Merganser
  • Osprey
  • Caspian Tern
  • Flamingo
  • Black-necked Grebe
  • Marsh Harrier
  • Glossy Ibis
  • Short-eared Owl


We start our journey in Évora and will meet 8 a.m. at your accommodation (or any other place of your choice). After meeting we drive about one hour until we reach the focused area.
