Tagus Estuary is the most important wetland of Portugal where you can observe a large number of bird species, especially waders and waterfowl. During the day we will visit several places inside the nature reserve and visit the EVOA Tagus Estuary Birdwatching and Conservation Area. During winter we can see huge concentrations of shorebirds and waterfowl that find refuge in this area.
Some of the species that can be observed are Purple Heron, Flamingo, Greylag Goose, Common Shelduck, Osprey, Pied Avocet, Bar-tailed Godwit, Ruddy Turnstone, Common Greenshank, Whimbrel, Sanderling, Short-eared Owl, Bluethroat, Penduline Tit, among many other species.
This tour was designed for groups up to 4 people and can be done at any time of the year with starts from Évora or Abrantes.

We start our journey in Évora or Abrantes and after picking you up at your accommodation, we proceed to the Tagus estuary.
Tour for Birdwatching
We will circulate on the paths inside the Reserve with many stops to find and observe and photograph the birds. Thousands of birds fly everywhere and small passerines cross the path.
ReturnTo Évora or Abrantes
After a great day of bird watching it’s time to drive back to your accommodation. But if we spot any interesting bird we will stop.
